Remembering Alaska Airlines Flight 261

January 31st, 2009 | Category: Namsayin

8 years ago on this date, I lost some good friends and co-workers that was on this ill-fated MD-83. My thoughts and prayers again go out to the victims and to their families and friends.

It was at 4:22 p.m. Jan. 31, 2000, that Flight 261, heading to San Francisco and Seattle from Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, plummeted into the choppy waters of the Pacific Ocean off Point Magu, about 65 miles northwest of Los Angeles.

Dick’s Drive-In celebrates 55th anniversary

January 29th, 2009 | Category: Eats, Namsayin, Seattle

One of my all time favorite places to eat is celebrating 55 years of serving the locals of Seattle their delicious burgers, fries and shakes. Looks like I’m going to be having a Deluxe, fries and ice cold 10 cent Coke Classic. That’s right I said 10 CENT COKE. This Friday ONLY Dick’s is celebrating their anniversary by selling Coca Cola for a dime and having a concert at it’s Queen Anne location by The Nowhere Men at 7pm. Dick’s burger and a concert, NAMSAYIN! Thanks Dick’s for serving up those delicious burgers and shakes over the years!

… Oh yeah and don’t forget, “Dick’s is the place where the cool hang out!” (3:22)

Forbes ranks Seattle #1 as the most wired city in America for 2009

January 25th, 2009 | Category: Namsayin

Technology and staying connected play a major part in how we go about our daily lives these days, namsayin. That just shows how us Seattleites stay on top of our tech game and love the need for speed when it comes to broadband connectivity. Hmmm, I wonder if Mr. Gates and his empire across the pond have anything to do with it or maybe the countless Starbucks HotSpots that encompass this city. I think Seattle will be reigning on top of this list for quite some time. They should turn the Space Needle into a giant WiFi tower. haha. See where your city ranks by clicking the link below.

Bring Em Back Home - Seattle Supersonics Tribute Show

January 24th, 2009 | Category: Home, Namsayin, People, Seattle, Video

We started our night at Nuemos to support one of our high school buddies, Wizdom. He was on stage rockin the mic, getting the crowd all hyped up. While we were there Slick Watts and his son Donald Watts stopped by to give us a talk here is a clip of what he spoke about:

Yes I hope we can bring back the Sonics back into Seattle. Seattle is too much of a great city not to have a professional basketball team.

ughhh… electronics and more on SALe namsayin

January 19th, 2009 | Category: Goods, Namsayin, Seattle

As you may have heard, second-to-the-top in the nation (behind Best Buy) electronics store Circuit City recently announced that, due to a butt load of debt and unsuccessfully finding a new owner, they’re closing their doors for good after being in business for 60 years. Sad. Very sad, and frightening at the same time, reminding us all of the reality of this current economic crisis. So since they are going out of business don’t miss out on a great opportunity to score on some huge discounts as the days pass and reach the day of March 31, 2009, as this day will be there last and final day of business.
