Back from Kali… i’ll be back with an update… but for now enjoy a new joint from Team Crixpi

And some words to think upon….

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him.
When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full.
They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full.
They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full.
The students responded with a unanimous ‘yes.’

The professor then produced two Beers from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed…
‘Now,’ said the professor as the laughter subsided, ‘I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things—your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions—and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car. The sand is everything else—the small stuff. ‘If you put the sand into the jar first,’ he continued, ‘there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you.
Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.
Spend time with your children.
Spend time with your parents.
Visit with grandparents.
Take time to get medical checkups.
Take your spouse out to dinner.
Play another 18.

There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.
Take care of the golf balls first—the things that really matter.
Set your priorities.
The rest is just sand.

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the Beer represented.
The professor smiled and said, ‘I’m glad you asked.’
The Beer just shows you that no matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room for a couple of Beers with a friend.

NYC part 4

Category: Namsayin

I promise almost done with the NYC coverage… im gonna make these last posts short and sweet.

Time to hit up the different districts. Since we had the Italian iron chef restaurant Babbo, we might as well hit up the Japanese iron chef restaurant Morimoto located in the Meatpacking District lol.

I was hella excited to try the food here being that they have sushi

Waygu Beef Bento

Black Cod Bento

Raspberry Mousse with Lychee Glaze

The cooked food was delicious, the sushi was alright, the dessert was amazing. Really pricey for lunch and I wasn’t even full. I think my expectations were high since we had a wonderful time at Babbo. Would I go back???? Maybe for dinner but not for lunch.

After we headed towards the Financial District
“The Bull” @ Bowling Green

The George Gustav Heye Center

Statue of Liberty from Battery Park

New York Stock Exchange

Ground Zero

Being there standing, looking around and taking in whats left. Trying to grasp the magnitude of these buildings coming down, I just can’t imagine what it might of been like to see the tragic events of 911 unfold first hand. RIP to the ones that had lost their life during and after affects of 911.

NYC part 3

Museum time and appreciating some of the architecture that NYC has to offer..

First was the New York City Public Library, I only took pictures of things around and inside because there was so much scaffolding on the actual building you could only see the steps

Bryant Park Grill - Main Lobster Burger yum

Metropolitan Museum of Art - get there early cause you will need the whole day to see everything, we didn’t get a chance to and admission is “donation” but they suggest $20, we gave $1 each…

Check out the Egyptian Bling

Picasso

I’m diggin his style

Chinese

Japanese

Since the museum is located in Central Park we decided to walk around and explore. Upon entering we saw this bird, I think its a Falcon?

then as we were walking we came across “The Boathouse”, I think we needed reservation but we arrived at such an early time that we were able to get a seat… score… I believe there was a scene in 27 dresses shot here

Grilled Branzino Fillet

There famous must have - Crab Cakes

then walking back hey look its our hotel

Cousin Rich the Barber and Jon Jon met us up and we headed down to the Lower East Side (LES)

Thanks to Jon Jon we were invited to attend Reed Space OakleyxStaple collabo - freshnessmag.com.

The LES is like a big and better belltown. Food for days and lots of bars and if your lucky you can find an open bar, not because there is a party just because thats there special for the night!!!…. Black and Tan

Jack and Bud - we found an open bar why not

NYC part 2

Category: Barts, Home, Namsayin

Next day was pretty much dedicated to checking out the tourist spots and of course eating…

Eatery NYC - Bacon Swiss Burger

5th Ave action, our hotel was a block away on 6th Ave

For those that don’t know 5th Ave is also a popular shopping area, across the street from the pic above I spy the Eiffel Tower - Louis Vuitton

Grand Central - this shot made me think of the movie I am legend where Will Smith is hanging upside down and his dog was barking at him lol, i was like the zombies are gonna come out soon…

Met up with Mr. Nisperos, he was like have you had Juniors? Answer was No

So he showed us this, also located in Grand Central… score…

Can you guess what park this is?

Later that evening, we had reservations at Iron Chef restaurant Mario Batali’s Babbo but of course I forgot my camera fack, big fail on my end. One of the best Italian restaurants i’ve been to hands down, reservations is a must, dress code is basically no tshirt and flip flops ,and for the price it was way below what we expected. I would highly recommend the Lamb’s Brain “Francobolli” and “Brasato al Barolo”

NYC part 1

Category: Namsayin

How to do New York City? There is really no real way to do New York City, just gotta start off somewhere and go from there. There is so many things to do in NYC that you can spend a day pretty much anywhere except Staten Island lol. So our first area of interest was Brooklyn, we wanted to check out the thrift and flea market shopping. Lets just say we were not disappointed and none of us came out empty handed. =)

Mini Bacon Cupcakes… yes will take one

Score… Michael Jackson action….

Tons of places to grab a drink…. but it gets expensive

We used Yelp to help us find restaurants in the area - Miranda Italian Restaurant

With all that walking, we knew that we should stock up on non-alcoholic drinks, cause buying drinks while your out gets quite expensive….

Thanks For The Memories - Jon Jon
