Namsayin Winter 2012 Collection

Category: Namsayin

We’ve stretched our legs this year and it’s primarily because of our cold winters forcing us to, but it’s here: Namsayin 2012 Winter Collection. We wanted to make it a colorful Winter season with all the grey clouds and white frost. For our mens we have a handful of tees and 2 hoodie colorways to choose from. For our ladies, we have also 2 women’s vnecks and 2 hoodie colorways as well. Also, can’t forget our beanies w/ our new Namsayin logo. We wanted to keep the collection fairly simple. Thanks to our photographer/technical director :Terrance Jeff Santos for the photowork. Also to our two models, James and Alena. Last, but not least thanks to Terry Eng and Al-Michael Franco who make things happen. Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! We’re set to launch via our Onlineshop tomorrow at 2pm. Thanks for those that have supported us through our first year and now we’re on to more action!

Our Night Ride hoodies are a favorite from our fall season, so we wanted to introduce more colorsways. Available in turqoise/black/reflective and grey/purple/reflective.

Our shirt selection was inspired by of course the things we love: our Seattle community, bicycle culture and anything that makes us say Ughhh!

Our “Know Where You Came From.” 107 Skyway shirt.

For our bicycle savvy friends, Namsayin Bicycle Seal. Available Grey/Black and Purple/Reflective

Cars, Bicycles, Money, Sushi and Boobs. Ughhh! Make em say Ughhh! Available in black and white colorways.

Also to keep your dome nice and warm is our uni-sex beanies. Available in grey or black.

Can’t forget the hoodies/vnecks for the ladies. Available in Grey/hot pink/reflective and Turqoise/purple/reflective. Our women’s vnecks are simple and features our “N” logo in reflective ink.

Thanks again to everyone that participated. Tomorrow everything will be available on our onlineshop. Stay tuned!!!!!!

Wish it was still snowing

Category: Namsayin

The snow is gone, but the memories for some of us here at Namsayin can say, “Man. I haven’t experienced a snow fall that crazy in hella.” And thats becaucse majority of us here were born in the 80s. Seattle was hit hard, but that didn’t stop cyclist and us from moving around the city. We made moves, but we didnt make snowmen. Here’s some photos of some of the action. Mysteriously, someone wrote some stuff on the trunk of my car.

Stopped by to check out HELLO BICYCLE, fellow cyclist, Ryan and his studded tires. Pimp decision purchase.

And the mysterious snow graffiti.

…….yep.

Snowmagedon is coming.

Category: Namsayin

You’d be real gangster enough to either drive your fixed up ride or ride fixed tonight. It’s suppose to be a record breaking night when it comes to snow fall. 9 to 12 inches. This hasn’t happened since 1985. Stay warm friends or put on a snuggie. Namsayin.

Yup. That’s 6 inches already. Now imagine a footie on top of that?

Starting to dump. I can’t wait for tomorrow. I’ll be sure to update with some images. Being in the sun about 300 days out of the year has made me appreciate the beauty of the NW winters. Snowboard/Skiing season is looking pretty solid this year. Powder action for sure.

Feel like relaxin’? Go ahead, lay out and relax. Go ahead, it aint cold. Till next time. Stay warm my friends. Namsayin.

Namsayin x Hello Bicycle Bicycle build: Wheel building-Lacing

Category: Namsayin

Back in action again. This time, we’re starting from the ground up. The most time consuming portion to this bicycle build is the wheels. And when I mean wheels, i mean lacing and truing wheels so that it’ll last you a good 50,000 miles of riding. For this wheel build, we decided to lace a wheel with techonology and style. We decided to go with a Nuvinici n360 gearless drivetrain w/black spokes, silver nipples and a Origin 8 “track attack” wheel in anodized in red. Bad ass. In building a bicycle wheel there are 3 main areas of focus: lacing, tensioning and truing. This first part will be the lacing section.

The Nuvinici n360 hub is the newest hub developed by Nuvinici. It’s technology will have any cyclist turnin’ heads. It’s a seamless shifting experience; no noise from gear shifting and is magical if you ask us. The Nuvinici n360 is compared to a 24 speed gearing system by today’s gearing standards. You’re probably wondering how it works, but thanks god theres a youtube video explaining this. It’s very impressive and I recommend anyone with the whole mechanic gearing to switch over. Guranteed to last you 10+ years of riding. This gearings system is nasty. It uses balls. In different sizes too. Peep the vid Dee YO.

Hope you understood the technology explaination. On to lacing. Now this is an artform. Whoever said that lacing bicycle wheels was easy, must have been doing it for 20+ years because it take patience. With the hub we decided to go with a 36 hole / spoke configuration, 3 cross pattern. We wanted a really durable setup and having the deep profiled rims from Origin 8 will help solidify that idea. We are no experts in wheelbuilding, but with the guidance from Sam at Hello Bicycle, we’re striving to become wheelbuilding champs. Wheelbuilding Pros like Sam, can build a wheel in an hour/hour and half tops. For us on the other hand, not so much. From what Sam told us, “uhhhhhhhhhhh yeah, it’s gonna take you guys sometime. Actually you’ll be come one with the wheelbuilding and you’re gonna have a good relationship soon.” This wheel we’re building is a 36 spoke wheel, not to mention this is a custom wheel build and hasn’t been seen before, namsayin. That’s how we do Nuvinici n360 + Origin 8 Track Attack wheel = A real bitchin’ ass wheel build. So lacing….. here we go!

Sorry for the blurry photos. My hand was too excited from all the lacing action. Now that the lacing is finished to this rear wheel, spokes will go through a uniform spoke depth which means all the the nipples will be turned until 1 visble thread on each spoke is visible. This will be the starting point before we begin tensioning and truing.

Next up, is the truing stand, but we’ll save that for the next post. Stay tuned, Namsayin! This build is well on its way. Be sure to follow us on twitter.com/namsayin. ACTION!

Know Where You Came From Vol. 1: WIZDOM part2

Category: Namsayin

“I’m a xmas hoarder.” I know the holiday season is offically over, but when we interviewed Wizdom he was xtatic about the x-mas season. Turn’s out that Wizdom is quite the holiday season shopper, decoratory dude; I mean the guy goes bananas when it comes to the holiday vibe. It’s literally the whole, “kid in a candy shop” type vibe. With that said, here’s a video extra of Wizdom speaking about X-mas growing up and how he get’s down during the Holiday season. Enjoy the action.
