Seattle Hip-Hop is on its way
Ughhh! I know im late with the news, but seeing everyone’s updates via facebook and how happy my fellow hip hop heads have been reacting to the amazing news I had to do a write up and give praise to our new front runner to the hip hop game here in Seattle; Macklemore. Macklemore has been putting in work for years and it’s a beautiful time and feeling to embrace his it; considering there are a ton of hip hop artist running with the same cliche outfit/style/delivery.
With that said, our friends at Madnw.org have been putting out snippets of there up and coming documentary in the works. They’re working on a full length documentary surrounding Seattle’s hip-hop scene and this is just a taste. Congrats to Macklemore and congrats to YOU, the people of Seattle; who’ve been believeing in the music and for being proud of where we came from. Cheers to the next level.

The Physics “Love is a Business” album release show
Sorry for the lack of updates within the last week. We’ve been busy here at Namsayin and with the 3 of us in constant workhorse mode, we’ve been trying to get everything ready for Fall. We have alot of surprises for this fall, alot of projects happening so stay tuned kiddies. Enough of our “biz” but I wanted to share with you what went on at The Physics “Love is a Business” album release show. If you missed out; YOU MISSED OUT! Ton’s of people were in attendance for both 18 + / 21+ shows. Incredible show, so incredible that i didn’t get enough photos of those that were in attendance. Some of your favorite rapper’s rapper’s were there. Sorry for the lack of photos in advance, ya’ll can ask me for a free shirt next time you see me.
The first show that evening was for those who couldn’t get their drink on, never the less the energy of the crowd was still there. Hosted by Khingz himself, up to bat for this show segment was Brothers from Another, Dyno Jamz and the King of Ballard, Grynch. All acts grindin’ hard on the stage, going heavy, going wid it, whatever you wanna call it, they brought it to the stage, namsayin.
Before the second show, the crowd came in pretty heavy. I mean everyone came in ready to get it on and listen to some good music. Seattle’s hip hop front runners were definitely in the building. To name a few, Macklemore, Geo from Blue Scholars, Grynch, Wizdom and im sure im missing a handful of artists, but pay attention Seattle. These cats are putting us on in the best way. Also, celb photographer KJ was in attendance as well.
The second show was hosted by El Mizell. On the 1s N 2s the crowd was blessed with Jake One. Fly Moon royalty kicked the second show proper, followed by new Seatown act Malice + Mario Sweet; a personal new fav of mine, followed by the combustable energy of Hi-Life Soundsystem and to top it off and bring the house down by non other than the men of the night, The Physics. Again sorry for the lack of photos, it was definitely one of those nights that made me feel good to be back in the city that rains and pours dope music.
We still have shirts available from our collaborative project with The Physics, go to our “store” cop it and rock it. “Love is a business” album is definitely quality. It’s one of the CDs that you’ll need in your whip. Support local Seatown hip hop joints. Again apologize for the lack of photos, but definitely it was a night to remember. Till then, see you guys around Seattle and stay glued kids! Fack!
