Coffee & Catch Up

May 17th, 2012 | Category: Namsayin

I met up with Kore Ionz singer, writter, rhythm guitarist, ‘ukulele jammer extrodinare, Pak to catch up on what’s in the works for him and his band Kore Ionz. Kore Ionz has been putting it down for over 8 years now when it comes to the Reggae scene here in Seattle. He recently flew out to Jakarta, Honolulu and now back in Seattle for projects with their sophomore album titled, “World War Free.” There song, “Love you Better” is getting major airplay, so go to there site and request heavy.

Eric Yamada (da808Seattle) and Terrance-Jeff Santos (Right) are set to work with Kore Ionz on a upcoming video project, “First Avenue” with features Geo / Prometheus Brown.

After some coffee and alil bit of laughs, stories and ideas about love / fear, we decide to listen to some jams. Check ‘em, follow ‘em HERE.

Later on that evening, I met with local bad boy, Wizdom. He just got back in from his trip So. Cal. We talked about future projects; one that includes a video project with Terrance-Jeff Santos and former Seahawk’s, now Detroit Lion’s Wide Receiver, Nate Burleson.

Amongst other things, we talked about how social media / name dropping / track dropping has gotten him airplay over-seas, what he plans on doing this summer and how he encourages everyone to keep sexy this summer and beyond. Namsayin x Wizdom will be working on a project in the near future. Stay tuned for the action and the offical video release. Ughhh! All day baby.

I know it’s been awhile but with the holidays and getting fat, I can say that “busy” was an understatement. The new year is here, but before my head gets chopped off or I pushed off the stage of Hip-Hop, I gotta post these photos of Wizdom’s listening party @ Rock Paper Scissors. It was a great turn out, tons of people enjoying and catching up before the madness during the holiday season. If you haven’t yet, download it off his itunes HERE and make sure to support the Seattle sound.

The homie’s Justo N Grynch.

Cant leave a party without exposing some of the shoe game, Jordans or Blake Gs? I dunno, but both are pretty truthful. Stay tuned for a full interview with Wizdom!

A day for Wizdom: Unearthed

December 06th, 2011 | Category: Namsayin

Today is our friend, Wizdom’s launch day of his third album titled, “Unearthed.” If I can sum up this album into one word I’d say, “Storytelling.” The album is packed with stories and his trials and tribulations of him being an artist. Support local and support it cause i said so, it’s Namsayin Approved. Click on photo to go to purchase his album.

In junction with his album release today, we will be teaming up with local seattle shop, RPS. RPS stands for ROCK PAPER SCISSORS and they’re located in the Central District. They sell everything from kicks, tees and more. Stay tuned for a blog post about their shop real soon.

Alotta stage part 2: Mixed Plate Showcase

October 22nd, 2010 | Category: Namsayin

In the past years, everyone can agree that Seattle has emerged out of the sounds of Sir Mix-a-lot, Nirvana and Soundgarden. There are bands of different sounds; individual artists that raise the bar in sound and performances; just really unique music all throughout our city. NVRMT promotions/da808 Seattle put on a MIXED showcase of local artists and acts @ The King Cat Theatre on 6th ave. On the stage artist such as Wizdom, Stef Lang and Island Bound ripped the stage. Pictures courtesy of Jeff Crisologo.
Namsayin has been a avid supporter of local artist.. It was good seeing Wizdom do his thing and rip the stage. Very captivating performer, esp with Ron Burgandy creeping on the picture. He just released his Mixtape titled “Washington Wizard” Mixtape. You can cop it HERE. He features snippets from Macklemore, Grynch and Spaceman. Cop it. Its real solid. The super cool guy to the left is none other than DJ El Grande. He spins at Copper Cart and always looking for groupie love.

Does the man to the far right look familiar? Probably not since he’s acting really strong for this camera shot. He’s a pretty dope skater, but on the frozen kind. He’s local hero JR Celski. He’s got some big plans and he’s on the move with his group MADNW. Check em out, namsayin. They’re in the process of making a documentary dedicated to local Seattle Hip-Hop. And to be honest, you missed out luckily, there was someone nice enough to take video of Wizdom’s performances
Stef Lang. Amazing. Breath-taking. I mean I can go on and just say how beautiful her music is, yadi yadi yadi, but you really had to be there to see/hear/feel her music. She’s based out of vancouver, B.C. Chart-toppin and just on her way to conquer the American soil.

Stef sang a song titled “Diamonds.” It’s a beautifully deep song and to think that she wrote the song at the age of 13. I didnt even know that 13 year olds wrote that deep; then again she was really writing like 18 year old cause, we all know girls mature quicker than boys.

Island Bound. This group has it all; they are a band that continues to grow in the Reggae scene, opening for some of Hawaii’s finest reggae bands like Ten Feet, Koa’uka, Ho’o koa, Ekolu and more keeping in mind to perpetuate our Hawaiian roots and culture.

James Santos, the drummer of Island Bound cop’d our logo Tee. Can you see it?!?! Can you see it?

The talent in Seattle is around us. For those that missed out. Def support local talent. Its the best thing to do for our community and its definitely a good time; as we enjoyed all the performances. NVMRT promotions plan to do more Mixed Plate Showcases. Come check future events promoted and throwing by the fellas. Mixed plate. Man im hungry. Lets go eat, namsayin.
